The holidays merry and bright, right? But they can also act like a magnifying glass when it comes to our pain and grief. Instead of denying our grief, delaying our pain, or simply distracting ourselves, there’s a better way.
Only God really knows how much more you can truly handle. But this much is true – God will never be beyond his ability to give you his presence, his power, and his comfort in any moment of need in your life.
He blesses us with his very presence. He is here when we hurt. And he’s been through it all – just think of the sufferings of Jesus and realize that God has felt our pain in the form his Son, the rejected and crucified Lamb of God.
Prayer becomes a lifeline, and the only way we get through the day. So that when happiness comes, we’ve made such a habit of looking to him in our circumstances that the praise of our hearts toward Heaven is a natural response to His goodness.
