You’ll be amazed at how simplified decision-making becomes when it’s all about pleasing and honoring King Jesus. And you’ll also be amazed at how much less you have to worry about.
Stop worrying. Build your thought life on the foundation of God’s promises, not the potential problems you can’t fix yet anyway. Here’s why…
You will, as Jesus’ follower, encounter battles. You will experience, from time to time, the ravages of the spiritual war raging around us. But at no time are you ever in jeopardy of losing when you follow the victorious, triumphant King.
Ask God to show you who your real enemy is. Satan is the Accuser, the Thief, and the Destroyer of life. Recognize him in prayer and ask God to thwart his plans to ruin you today!
Simply defined, prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference. It’s earth giving heaven permission to intervene in the manifestation down here of the spiritual reality up there.
Our confession – literally, our agreement with God that our sin is offensive – is prerequisite to experiencing his cleansing power, but our confession doesn’t actually earn or merit his forgiveness. Forgiveness simply flows out of the goodness of God who is always true to his own nature.
When we get real, God’s Spirit goes to work. When we open up, he comes in to do his work. When we take responsibility, we clear the deck so God can bring forth something new and fresh in our lives.
No matter what your circumstances are, you can get through it, and grow through it, and look back on it as a victory for the glory of God!
When we pray, we enter the throne room from which God rules and reigns and from where he gives us our assignments. And when you’ve tasted of God’s grace, when you’ve experienced the redemptive power of Jesus’ death on the altar of the cross, you can’t help but be overwhelmed with a burden for an unknowing world.
Our rebellion is glaring in light of his glorious perfection. And his authority to judge and power to punish ought to strike us with a sense of trepidation. But that’s not the end of the story.
